Abuse

According to the statistics by the time a girl turns 18, 1 in 4 have been a abusive relationship. this is crazy what are we teaching our children not just boys but girls too. when i was 16 i left a guy that i cared for and really like for a guy that promised me the world. i was stupid but i was young. two weeks into the relationship came the controlling, the mental abuse, the degrading, telling all my flaws and stating that no one would date me because i am ugly (i may not be beautiful but i am not ugly) one month into the relationship i lost my friends and the hitting came on because he was mad at his mother he took it out on me, when i didn't kiss him, hug him or do anything right he hit me. i was wearing long sleeves and no saw bruised on my body. i felt that the bruises were my fault. to this day the only person beside me that knows what is him i can't bring myself to tell anyone the whole truth. some people who some of what happen but all. my husband knows most the others cause he has to live with me and when something triggers those memory's he needs to know why i am freaking out. his best friend hated me so much that he lied and said that i was sleeping with him, i was not sleeping with anyone willing. i found out i was pregnant and told him. that night while i was sleeping he came in and stomped on me back and stomach so that i would lose the baby. he said that he would claim a baby that he didn't know was his. i lost the baby, and he became worse bruises would appear on my neck, face and other parts of my body that i could not cover anymore. i was working and no one ever thought it was weird that he was there my whole shift and that i had bruises. if by some chance someone did ask i would lie. once i was at school and talking with another boy (who i happen to date the year before) he came charging in and threw me against the lockers i had a bump on my head the size of a grapefruit and was told that if i talked to him again i would be killed. i got a week break that year. i went to outdoor school as a counselor, i have always working with kids and teaching them about animals this one week my bruises went away. but as soon as i came back the hitting started. the relationship started in December and went to July.

the night i left for good. his mother confronted me about it and i could lie anymore, i told her the truth she confronted her son and he went off at me and her and his step dad( he has prove that he will hit me but i did not know that he used his to bait his step dad before me) he went after me and his mother i hid in the bathroom when he slammed the front door i called my mommy because of the situation they called the cops to come get me so that there were no more surprises. i got my stuff and went home within 10 minutes he was banging on my door trying to get in, he banged on my windows and did everything he could to get inside, we called the cops he was arrested- he got no jail time but a restrainting order was place until he turned 18. i thought this is over not by a long shot when i was pregnant with my first child he came into my place of work and was harassing me, one of the supervisor told me to get back out there and work the other came to my defense, i got chores to do in the back of the store where he could not get there i was 8 months pregnant. since then i have seen him but not had any interaction with him, those memory's still haunt in my dreams and everyday life. i don't want my girls to go through what i did. i will educated them and my brothers as to the types relationship that you can have and make sure that they are aware of these thing and avoid them.

Wow, pretty major heavy not good stuff. I'm really sorry you've had to deal with that. Hopefully getting it out in writing will be a cathartic release kind of thing. Considering that experience, I'd have to say you seem remarkably not crazed or outwardly traumatized in normal interactions that I've witnessed. Hang in there, kiddo.
